Looking back on our first year: In the first financial book year of CHF we boldly budgeted our total income at 10,000 Euros. Thanks to the generosity of those at the Christiaan Huygens monument unveiling ceremony, we could confirm, very early in the year, that two grants of 500 Euros each would be available (2008/2009 academic year) for students wishing to undertake a charitable internship aboard in support of the foundations goal. These grants were awarded to two students that are going to Sierra Leon to help build a school. Further a financial donation on behalf of the foundation was contributed to "Hart voor Tanzania" - a charitable organization that provides schooling for deaf children in Tanzania. Other income was reserved for the foundation's own large scale and long term project, the "Marjan van Kraaij project". The board decided half way the year during 2008 to contribute all additional corporate and other sponsoring towards the next financial year to enable better forecasting for the coming year. A detailed overview of the 2008 budget will be avialable shortly.
